There we go, that is much much better. The bass sounds great now, with the perfect amount of hit. Didn't think you'd be able to add more ideas to this project, as usually when I revisit projects to try to extend them, I can never do it. The Fx's that you added to this usually for transitions are amazing, and keep the song fresh. I guess I will never get enough of that melody, it's genius. And the end? The end is superb how the synths stop completely at the beginning of the Fx.

Matches responds:

Adding onto it wasn't tooo difficult, I just took the same harmony parts and put them into a sharp rave lead, and another electronic instrument I can't put my finger on and messed with em a little bit. I'm sure you'd be able to do something similar, fairly easy even if you just do a new bass with a tweaked bass line. And yeah, took me a bit longer than I'd hoped to time it right, especially to make the laughs and the "f**k off" near the end match up right. I'm glad you like the end, I wasn't sure if I could get it right with all the end cords and harmonies lol

The guitar sounds a lot like early Limp Bizkit pieces. Hopefully you don't find that as an insult, haha. I know a lot of people dis them. Anyways, this is fucking amazing... the transitions are right on and couldn't be much better. I really like the intensity of this piece, and I know things could probably be even heavier, but as far as me, I dig this amount of heaviness. Perhaps I just made up my own concept there... hahaha, whatever, hopefully it made sense. Back on track though, the drums are a masterpiece... hell, this whole song is a masterpiece. Not much to say about this, as there are no flaws that I can find. 7 minutes and 11 seconds of pure amazing... can't get much better than that. Awesome work man.

fire118 responds:

I ACTUALLY LIKE LIMP BIZKIT.

THANK YOU FOR YOU'RE KIND WORDS. I APPRECIATE IT.

LOOK FORWARD FOR MORE TRACKS!

Love it! The kind of pirate theme sounds amazing and really adds to the overall effect of the song. The only flaw I see is something that I'm sure is just an opinion, but the bass really seems way too grungy to me when it drops. I guess one flaw that I definitely know is NOT an opinion is that the bass definitely is too loud! haha, I know there's a thing called volume control on my laptop, but still, other songs I don't have to control my volume in order to listen to them. Not too big of a deal, just thought I'd put that out there. Back on positive notes, I really like the Fx of the creaking ship. Basically it makes the song what it is. Awesome job!

Well now... this was totally unexpected. I was actually expecting some sort of midi to be used with cheap sounding leads/synths. This is awesome and completely original... well of course other than the fact that it's a remix so I guess it's not completely original, haha. I really can't find any problems with the song at all so I guess we will just leave it at that. Awesome work man, surprise me again sometime.

FenixB-dogg responds:

haha, thanks a lot! and I'll try!

Blueberry Frosted Pancakes

That is what I think whenever I hear this song

Regurgitated doughy goodness.

... hahaha

I really like the intro. The snares and the kick are really well thought out. How the melody ends up fading in is pretty awesome. However, in some parts it sounds like too much is going on at once. I really don't know how to explain it, but it's more at the intro and then that feeling kind of goes away. Not too big of a deal, because I know for a fact in my songs I that I have a lot going at once also, ahha. I like the bass that you end up putting in also. My favorite part of this has to be how the leads and synths all have an original sound to them and the pitch slides sometimes. In all, you have a great piece here and I hope to hear more.

Synthapse responds:

Yo thanks a lot man!

I really liked the intro but then the synth that came in at 40 seconds just doesn't really appeal to me. To me, I think it's the tone of the synth that doesn't sound really good. However, after the arp comes in later, that synth that I was talking about before really does start to sound good. So I think, a good way of fixing this whole problem would probably be having the arp come in first and then transition to the synth playing at the same time as the arp and then like you did in the song, have the arp stop playing and the synth continue to play. Haha, I'm going to go onto another topic because I don't want this review to be specifically just on one thing... I really like what you did with this. It definitely has that horror feeling to it that I love. The drum beat was amazing throughout the entire song, but some diversity in the beat would be nice. I am not going to complain about that though, it's not that big of a deal. As I'm getting to the end of the song now, I have one last thing to comment on. The actual conclusion of the song definitely should have been different instead of literally just a kick and then Bam, end... I think what you should have done is had the song fade out as a whole rather than just ending it with kicks. In all, this song has some good motivation, it just needs a little help and some fixing.

Completely like every single part of this song EXCEPT just one aspect... The bass in some parts of the song overpowers everything else and makes the volume of other instruments lower just a little bit, distorting them just a little bit. If it weren't for headphones, I definitely would not have picked that up. This issue is an easy fix, and for that, it's not too unappealing to me and won't really affect my final vote. Another issue I have, that's not necessarily a bad one, is that this is far too short! Why is that!? I was enjoying the flow of the song and then all of a sudden, BAM, over. Anyways, onto the great things that you did with this. The vocal that you used for the transition really got my attention and hooked me to the song. The beat to the song is great too. Reminds me of a song for an old 16 bit game on the Sega Genesis or something. Like Sonic I guess, haha. Awesome song!

Matches responds:

Thanks for the tips, do you know a way to fix the bass distortion without turning that track down? I like the bass to it but I heard that too, didn't think anyone would notice lol. As for the length I'll be posting a longer version once i can figure out something else to do to it, starting to sound a little repetitive to me but it could be just from listening to it a bunch of times while I was making it. To extend it would people like yourself like to hear more of that beat repeated with maybe a new backround, or a new harmony or brand new melody that goes with the bass line or something like that? When i finished it and listened more it reminded me personally of how the songs from the batman gameboy game way back in the day sounded lol. Once again thanks for your help, I'll be looking forward to hearing back from you again

Where to begin... The snare that appears at the intro is a little too loud and hurts my ears. Perhaps tone it down just a couple decibels. Everything else in this song is amazing and I'm in love. The crowd that you transition to was an awesome idea. Haven't really heard anything like that before. I like the bass you use in the beginning and the other basses that you use for other parts of the song. The piano from the intro that you use was a great hook, as it actually hooked me to listen to the rest of the song. And thank god for that, it's definitely a great work of art. Other than the snare in the intro, there are no other problems to this song and I'd say you have something great going on. Good job!

Danxis responds:

Thanks Man.. its good read something constructive.. i do a little mix downing the snare..
its good to know that have some people that like of my stuff. i really thank you..

Soon, more songs coming

Really like this. It reminds me of older trance music that definitely did sound way more electronic/ambient than it seems to now. If you've ever played the old Need For Speed games (I.E. Hot Pursuit 2), this song reminds me of how the faster you drive, the more intense the techno/trance music plays, haha. Really like this piece though, man. It almost brings a cinematic experience to my head. The overall feeling of this song is a great energetic feeling that I love. The bass, as the reviewer below me had pointed out, is really original and I love it. All of the transitions in the song came in at the right time and felt perfect. I really like the added FX to the song. Kind of reminds me of my newest song in some parts... did I inspire you or did you copy my ideas? Haha, only joking. On a more serious matter, I am definitely adding this to my favorites. I cannot find anything wrong with the song at all, so kudos. Great job and keep up the great work!

Lashmush responds:

I'm pleased to read that you enjoyed my plagiarism of your own work, sir.

Srsly tho, glad you like it. c:

For over a decade, music has been my passion. I've been on Newgrounds since I was 5. That's nearly 20 years! I'll always remember this place as where it all began.
